Since the beginning of acoustic amplification, musicians have been forced to sacrifice the complex sound of their prized guitars to play at louder volumes. You could use a mic to capture detail and suffer feedback, or use a pickup for higher volumes at the expense of your guitar’s true voice.

To bridge this gap, we spent nearly three years in intensive research collaborating with acoustic scientists and digital signal processing experts, including Dr. Jonathan Abel, co-founder of Universal Audio.

This breakthrough is our patented Voiceprint technology. Our proprietary Impulse Response technology leverages the processing power of your smartphone, measuring the acoustic response of your guitar in your hands to create a custom digital Voiceprint representing the true voice of your instrument. Your Voiceprint can then be saved into a preset that you can further modify with EQ, anti-feedback, and level controls for a full toolkit of live performance features.

The AcousticLive App

The AcousticLive app connects your iOS or Android phone to the Voiceprint DI and guides you step by step through the process of capturing the response of your guitar and pickup. Preview the sound and save it into one of the Voiceprint DI’s 99 available presets.

Each preset contains an additional suite of controls to fine-tune your sound:

LEV (Levels): Precise control over your input Pad and Preset Level so you can switch between presets and guitars without changes in volume.
VP (Voiceprint): Continuous, real-time control of the blend between your raw pickup and Voiceprint, with a dedicated EQ module that affects only the sound of the Voiceprint.
FB (Feedback): Manual and automatic feedback controls let you play safely in any environment.
EQ (Equalizer): Includes seven custom EQ presets built in and a fully adjustable 5-band parametric equalizer with high-pass and low-pass filters. Use the app’s Preset Library to quickly move presets between pedals and devices or modify Preset playlists.

The Voiceprint DI

The Voiceprint DI puts your custom presets at your feet, with 99 preset slots and the essential controls you need for performing live, without needing to keep your phone available. The Anti-FB and Voice knobs give you immediate control over your Anti-Feedback and Voiceprint blend, while the Select knob scrolls between the presets loaded on the pedal. You can also use the Next footswitch to scroll through your presets one by one. A quick press of the Mute footswitch will mute both outputs of the Voiceprint DI. A long press of the Mute will bypass all of the pedal’s processing, defaulting back to your original pickup signal. The Pad button allows you to change your input level quickly to accommodate high-output pickups, and the analog Volume control on the pedal gives you full control over the signal level you send to your amp or mixer.
