Building directly off of the specialized engineering of our Baggs Violin Pickup design, molding our miniature vibration sensor directly into the bridge, we adapted this same concept for the banjo. We use a 5/8” Grover bridge and cast a pickup sensor directly into the center of it to capture the vibrating head and the string energy, producing a full and rich amplified banjo sound.
Our fully custom jack seamlessly integrates into the design. Easy to install and non-invasive, it matches the aesthetics of the world’s finest banjos.
The element that gives a banjo its signature projection and biting attack is the vibrating head. Because it essentially functions as a speaker cone and is where most of the energy is produced, we knew we had to find a way to amplify that. That’s exactly what we achieved when we embedded a vibration sensor directly into a replacement banjo bridge to capture the unique sound of the instrument—a sound that tracks the beautiful interplay between the strings and the banjo head, delivering authentic, balanced banjo dynamics to any stage.
