If traditional magnetic pickups have a one-dimensional sound, and the body-sensitive M1 has a two-dimensional sound, then the M80 unlocks the third dimension.

The revolutionary coil suspension of our M1 allowed a magnetic pickup to reproduce a focused range of microphonic sensitivity from the guitar body. The M80 expands on the idea by implementing an elastomer suspension that allows the sensitive coil to move in three directions, delivering full range body sensitivity while following every movement of the guitar top.

3-Dimensional Sound

With a seamless balance of string sensitivity from the magnets and body sensitivity from the suspended lower coil, the M80 captures more warmth and clarity from the guitar without sacrificing feedback stability.

Passive & Active Performance

Instead of making an active and a passive version of this pickup, we added a small switch underneath the M80 for maximum flexibility from a single pickup. Use the Active Mode to engage the internal preamp, volume control, and factory-set EQ contour. Use the Passive Mode to bypass the internal electronics and battery for a neutral sound that can be processed through your preferred preamp.
