The Art of Letting Go

Written following a season of personal reflection and life transitions, Time Will Tell explores the fine balance of letting go of what no longer serves you while holding on to gratitude for the present.

“My dad is a musician; he’s a singer and a wedding singer and definitely music came from him,” Devon says on his musical upbringing. “He was always playing Stevie Wonder in the house. Stevie was his North Star…and then my dad hit me in the head with this Jimi Hendrix Greatest Hits CD, and I was like, ‘Okay, let me check who this guy is.’ I put him in my little Walkman and my brain just exploded. From that point on, I had to know how to do what he was doing… That was when I really fell in love with the guitar.”

In this session, Devon delivers intimate acoustic live performances of tracks like “Hold On” and “Glad To Be Here” with his dynamic vocal delivery paired with the rich acoustic warmth of his Martin guitar, showcasing the authenticity of his songwriting.. 

“That song came out of just being grateful for this life that I’m living grateful, that I get to play music for a living,” Devon says on the inspiration behind his new song “Glad To Be Here,” which he says is his favorite song on the album. “It is a mantra, it’s something that I can sing every day every night and feel good.”
